CZECH MOUNTAIN GUIDES ASSOCIATION
The Czech Mountain Guides Association is the national body that unites and certifies mountain guides in the Czech Republic. It is a member of the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations. In the Czech Republic, the alpine training of mountain guides is structured through a training and evaluation course, lasting 3 to 5 years from admission to final exams. Czech guides often rely on gear from Direct Alpine, such as the Alpha jacket or the popular Cascade Plus pants.

FERRATA VODNÍ BRÁNA
The idea for the via ferrata on the Rieger Trail came to Honza Šípal and Čokař sometime around 2010. In 2011, several sport climbing routes were established on the rock face of Vodní brána, and exploration began. In January 2013, the first (red) via ferrata was opened. In March, the second (blue – descent) ferrata followed. The grand opening, with the unveiling of a sign marking the Vodní brána via ferrata, took place in June. In 2018, the team decided to add a third via ferrata, which was successfully introduced in the summer of 2019 during the celebration of the 110th anniversary of the Rieger Trail, organized by the Semily KČT (Czech Tourists Club). There are programs available for schools, team-building events, or simply to experience the via ferrata yourself.
POŠTOVNA SNĚŽKA
The original wooden cottage on Sněžka likely dates back to the mid-19th century. The first known mention of it is from July 2, 1875, when it housed an Austrian imperial-royal telegraph station. From September 1899, it served as a Czech post office and continued to do so until the Sudetenland was occupied by Germany in 1938. After World War II, postal services were not resumed, and the building was used as a storage facility. Between 1993 and 1995, Jaroslava Skrbková, a former postmistress from Velká Úpa, renovated the building and reintroduced postal services along with a snack kiosk on Sněžka.
The current structure at the summit of Sněžka was designed by architects Hoffman and Rajniš. There were nine design proposals, all named after women with names beginning with the letter "A." Ultimately, the design named Anežka was chosen. The structure of the Czech Post Office is a wooden puzzle made up of 20,000 parts. The building touches the ground only on twelve footings (steel profiles set in concrete). The exterior is made of double glazing and wooden shutters, allowing the building to transform from a modern glass structure into a wooden hut, adapting to changing weather conditions.
The Czech Post Office on Sněžka is the highest-standing building in the Czech Republic. Inside this unique structure, you can not only buy souvenirs but also send a postcard from the highest point in the country.
LIBEREC TOWER

If you'd like to enjoy the view, climb the 107 steps to the top of the 25-meter-high tower. The reward for your effort is a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding area. You'll see the city of Liberec with its 100,000 inhabitants, framed by the majestic Ještěd mountain in the background, the forested ridges of the Jizera Mountains, and Císařský kámen (the Emperor´s Stone)with its lookout tower.
