Ambassador Honza Navrátil

Ambassador Honza Navrátil

He was born in 1987 in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem (in the Vysočina region). Honza is a sales representative for TENDON, and as such, he also needs to be a traveler. But inside him he has the soul of an adventurer, a versatile athlete, and a lover of nature and tranquility.

He studied for an Advanced Diploma in Marketing and Management in Perth, Australia.

Honza loves pushing his personal limits and trying out new things. Most recently, he added paragliding to his growing list of activities. In addition to that, he’s into climbing, running, cycling, ski touring, ice climbing, swimming, hiking, volleyball, and lately also product photography for partners. You'll even spot him in our 2026 summer season photos as a model!

He discovered climbing in high school after health issues forced him to give up his ambition to be a professional volleyball player. His brother first took him climbing on a rope at their local Vysočina crags, marking the beginning of a whole new chapter in his life.

Ski touring came years later, after he returned from more than 10 years abroad. He fondly describes it as “love at first step onto the skins,” likely because he has loved mountains since childhood and grew up cross-country skiing. Running and other sports were gradually added over time. Having done sports and athletics from a young age, he’s always had a strong base and natural talent for movement. He keeps adding new athletic challenges—the latest being paragliding!

Honza still has plenty of dreams and plans—but when asked to share the biggest one, he says it’s to be able to do all these sports without limitations, for as long as possible. He enjoys setting himself challenges that are both physically and mentally demanding. For him, pushing his own limits is more important than medals from competitions. As he puts it, he moves and plays sports for joy, not for results.

Honza’s favorite Direct Alpine piece? When asked, he took his time thinking—because he has quite a few favorites. In the end, he chose the Cascade Light pants, which he describes as “mega well-designed trousers that fit exactly how they should and can be worn year-round.” Recently, he’s also grown fond of the Cyclone jacket, which “really surprised me with its versatility, low weight, and good packability.” And last but not least, he mentioned our Dragon hoodie, which he considers a “go-to piece from morning till night.”

And what does he say about Direct Alpine? “The first piece of clothing I bought from DA was 20 years ago—a fleece pullover in orange and the Patrol pants. I later gave the hoodie to my mom, who still wears it on special occasions, and I had to throw the pants away after 15 years only because they were so covered in paint from work that they could practically stand on their own—but everything on them still worked to the very end.
For me, this is a brand that’s supported me through all my adventures and one I could always count on. I’ve stayed loyal to the brand, just as they’ve stayed loyal to local production and providing jobs within the local market. That fact is often overlooked or overshadowed by products made in China. People need to realize that by buying DA products, they’re not only supporting high-quality Czech-made gear, but also giving work to local people.”
